Dear SAS Member,

We are pleased to announce that the fourth SAS ERM Conference will be jointly organized with ESSEC Business School – CREAR (Center of Research in Econo-finance and Actuarial science on Risk) to be held on 26th and 27th July 2018 at the ESSEC Singapore Campus. This year’s theme is:  Cyber risks – Threats and Opportunities for the Asia Pac Insurance Industry

Cyber risks are regularly mentioned as the top priority in Risk Managers’ minds. All Insurance & Reinsurance companies are expected to play a critical role in this fast-changing and constantly evolving environment: both as a target for cyber criminality and as an insurance coverage provider.

We are honoured to have Mr Tommy Tan, the Head of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Technology Risk Supervision Division, to deliver the keynote opening speech for the event.

The call for papers is now open and we invite you to participate! The 2018 Joint SAS ERM – ESSEC Conference welcomes the (re)insurance and non-insurance professionals to present their knowledge & experience on:

  • Risks that are threatening the insurance industry: nature of such threats, insights on the cybercrime world, relevance to the insurance industry in terms of vulnerabilities, opportunities and relevant data privacy regulations.
  • Cyber insurance: market & demand dynamics, existing and future insurance products, pricing techniques, accumulation of risks, reinsurers’ perspective.

Other than the classical style of presentations, other suggestions including participative workshops, cyber games are also welcome.

To express your interest in presenting at this conference, please send the topic, together with a brief outline of the presentation as well as the brief biography of the presenter(s) to us at erm2018@actuaries.org.sg by 20 April 2018. Selected presenters will be notified via email by 31 May 2018.

Best regards,

Raymond Cheung

Chair, SAS ERM Committee
