Communication for Actuaries

Dear Members,

The Singapore Actuarial Society is organising a Virtual Training Session on “Communication for Actuaries: an introduction on how to increase the impact of your communication with your business partners”.

Training Synopsis

Having to communicate with different target groups (incl. "non-actuaries") can represent a considerable challenge for any actuary. The key to an effective communication often resides in "how" it is communicated while the "what" stays in the background.

The training will teach you to recognize some common communication patterns and when and where to use them in your communication. You will be invited to participate to interactive exercises so that you know how to tackle your next communication challenge. At the end of the presentation, you will take home a summary of concrete “take-aways” that you can use in your day-to-day work.

In adjusting a few items in how you communicate, your results will be better understood, your board submissions accepted and your presentations listened to. Because your work matters!

About the Speaker

Caroline Grégoire is a business coach and speaker. With 20+ years of experience in the (re)insurance, actuarial and risk management fields in international environments and in different leadership positions, Caroline now works with actuaries and risk managers on the communication and leadership aspects of their work.

With her expertise and her enthusiasm, she shows you how to better interact with your business partners which is the key to an effective actuarial communication. Her practical approach makes sure that what she teaches can easily be applied to one’s daily work.

Caroline is an associate member of the Swedish Actuarial Society and a member of the German Speakers Association. She is a certified NLP Business Practitioner and a business and resilience coach according to the H.B.T. (Human Balance Training) method. She is fluent in English, French, German and Swedish and is now based in Portugal. More on www.cg-four.com/en.

Growing up in cold Canada, Caroline is a former figure skater who believes she still can do a sit spin and an arabesque. It is better if you ask her to sing “O sole mio” or something from the “Phantom of the Opera”.
