About the Speakers
Weng Jianshu is currently with AI Singapore (AISG), an integrated, impact-driven, research and innovation programme in artificial intelligence (AI) for Singapore. As a national initiative, AISG brings together the strength of Singaporean research bodies in Singapore’s Autonomous Universities and research institutes, together with the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products, to perform use-inspired research, create innovative AI solutions, and develop the talent to power Singapore’s AI efforts.
Jianshu has many years of AI/Data Science research and consulting experience. Before joining AISG, he was the Head of Insights and Modelling of a leading global reinsurer where he led his team to deliver a number of significant data science projects for their key clients in the Asia Pacific region.
Jean-Michel Loubes is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Toulouse and he holds the Chair of Robust and Fair Machine Learning at the Artificial and Natural Intelligence Institute of Toulouse, one of the 4 French research centers for Artificial Intelligence. His research is focused on building new Machine Learning methods to obtain explainable fair and robust algorithms in order to control their risk. He authors more than 50 research papers in statistics, probability and artificial intelligence and directed more than 15 Phd students. He is a member of the Research Council of National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and was elected in 2020 Vice-President of Toulouse University, Responsible for Innovation for Industry.
Jack Xia is the Chief Actuary of the regional leading InsurTech startup Igloo, responsible for managing risk with big data, cloud computing, machine learning and predictive modelling. A veteran to connect insurance with digital economy using cutting edge technology. He is an FSA, CERA and holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics.
