After a successful event last year, the Society of Actuaries (SOA) is once again conducting their signature event in Asia, the SOA Asia-Pacific Annual Symposium. The theme this year is "Beyond Traditions - A World of Opportunities". Taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the SOA looks forward to building a comprehensive and engaging program in 2017.
Presenters will discuss issues covering the recent topics in a wide range of areas. Seasoned speakers and experts will also share their professional insights about the future of the industry.
This year, the SOA is honored to receive support from the Actuarial Society of Malaysia (ASM) and Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM). We are also very pleased to welcome Gary Hoo, president of ASM and a delegate of PIAM as welcome remarks speakers. Keynote speakers for the symposium will be Yew Khuen Yoon, director of insurance development of the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Jeremy Brown, FSA, MAAA, president of the SOA.
This symposium intends to provide a learning and networking platform in the Asia-Pacific for members and non-members to share their experiences in the actuarial profession, the finance and insurance industries, as well as other fields that relate to actuaries in the Asia-Pacific. It will offer:
