China’s Healthcare & Insurance Evolution and Its Potential Implications
China’s healthcare and insurance market has undergone rapid and large scale transformation, particularly in Critical Illness and Medical Reimbursement products. These developments reflect how insurers have responded to rising healthcare costs, regulatory shifts, and changing consumer expectations.

In this session, we will explore key product innovations, pricing and risk management approaches from the China market, and discuss what practical lessons Singapore insurers and actuaries can draw as our own healthcare system faces cost pressures, ageing demographics, and evolving protection gaps.
