Description
The FWD Summer Internship Programme offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on real-world experience in an innovative insurance company.
We offer a 10 to 12 weeks internship program from May to July 2023, where you will have the opportunity to be at the heart of our business; taking part in day-to-day operations, collaborations and making decisions. You will also have the opportunity to develop corporate engagement activities with people across different functions, participate in learning activities and networking opportunities with senior management, providing you with a holistic work life experience.
Positions Available
(1) FWD Summer Internship 2023 - General Insurance Actuarial Intern
Location: Singapore
We are looking for General Insurance Actuarial Intern to join our team!
The primary duties and specific tasks/projects include:
- Involve in data preparation for models
- Participate in model process automations
- Support model improvements for reinsurance, MAS reporting and business planning projections
- Collaborate with business intelligence and data team to improve efficiency and accuracy of actuarial processes
Internship Period
May to July 2023 (10 to 12 weeks)
Who We Look For:
We are looking for passionate university students, who are creative freethinkers with a start-up mindset. Other requirements include:
- Actuarial, Economics, Financial Engineering, or any Quantitative degree are preferred
- Proficiency in at least 1 of the programming languages – SQL, VBA, R, Python, C++
- Experience in building models or past participation at case competitions is an advantage

(2) FWD Summer Internship Programme 2023 - Reporting Intern (Life Actuarial)
Location: Singapore
We are looking for a Reporting Intern (Life Actuarial) to join our team!
The primary duties and specific tasks/projects include:
- Conduct annual experience study exercise
- Conduct regular reporting tasks and analysis
- Improve existing BAU templates to better fulfil control requirements
- Enhance existing valuation spreadsheet models to fit for new products / non-Prophet modelled products
- Review Prophet model changes from centralized model team
Internship Period
May to July 2023 (10 to 12 weeks)
Who We Look For:
We are looking for passionate university students, who are creative freethinkers with a start-up mindset. Other requirements include:
- Students pursuing a Actuarial Science degree are preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office application software as well as basic programming skills
- Actuarial knowledge with technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

(3) FWD Summer Internship Programme 2023 – Life Product Intern
Location: Singapore
We are looking for a Life Product Intern to join our team!
The primary duties and specific tasks/projects include:
- Conduct analysis on insurance industry environment (SWOT) – both local and across global markets
- Perform simple product comparison - benefits and pricing
- Assist with proof reading product and fund collaterals
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide fresh perspectives
- Gain familiarity with the insurance industry and digital marketing strategy
Internship Period
May to July 2023 (10 to 12 weeks)
Who We Look For:
We are looking for passionate university students, who are creative freethinkers with a start-up mindset. Other requirements include:
- Students pursuing a Marketing, Business and Economics degree are preferred
- Having Programming, Bloomberg and Morningstar knowledge is a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Good understanding of Microsoft applications is a plus
